Thank you for taking the time to visit All-Star Golden
Retrievers. The Lord has blessed me with a warm,
loving home filled with the laughter of children and the loving companionship
of our Golden Retrievers, who are also family members.
A Big thank you goes
out to my family and dear friend/sister, Suzi Houtz, for helping
with the dogs and whelping the puppies during my recent time of
illness.
All-Star Golden Retrievers specializes in breeding the ultimate family
dogs,
especially
with children. Between foster children, adopted children, my own children,
nieces, nephews and neighbors, the puppies are born into a world where
they do not know anything other than being cuddled in the arms of a child
on a daily basis. The children assist in the puppy rearing from birth
until the time they leave for their new homes.
The first 12 weeks of life are the most important in the life of a dog,
as the first weeks of imprinting will prepare them for life. If a
puppy is kennel raised, they are not allowed to experience “life” and without
proper socializing, each new thing traumatizes them. Our puppies are
handled by children, are familiar with the noises of the vacuum, going for
car rides and playing outside. By imprinting and socializing
the puppies, they are very confident in themselves and their surroundings.
Several of our puppies have gone on to be wonderful show dogs and are very
confident in the show ring.
Our goldens
are often used when working with children who have been bitten or are fearful
of dogs. Their mellow disposition and funny antics wins the hearts of everyone.
Our dogs are also used in nursing homes and with grief counseling.
All of our puppies inherit their parents mellow, intelligent disposition
and have a natural love for children. Our puppies come with a two year health
guarantee against genetic diseases that affect the eyes, heart hips and
elbows. Your puppy will come with it's first series of shots, wormed
and vet-checked. We have pet and some show quality puppies.
ALL of our goldens are sold on a
limited registration with AKC.
We not only breed our wonderful Goldens, but they are also considered family
members. They participate in all our family outings and love to swim in
the lake, pool and go on hiking adventures. Before breeding, all of
our dogs undergo all certification, OFA hip/elbows, CERF certified and heart
clearances.
We
specialize in the All-American Goldens and quality English Cream Goldens.
We have researched our lines extensively to ensure only quality puppies
are produced. We are active in producing family dogs, as well as show dogs.
Please
pray for my son, Devin, who is a proud Marine. **Update, Devin has graduated from the EOD and has been accepted as a member of the Special Forces.
Devin is scheduled to Deploy back to Afghanistan 3/20. We appreciate
your prayers.

Meet Our Horses

We own two horses, Sandy
and Sonny....well, now 3 (Santa brought a Buckskin Quarter Pony
named Teddy). I grew up Barrel Racing and Polebending on Sandy
(left). She is now 27 years old and retired. Sonny
(right) is her last baby and as you can tell, she is a handful.
The dogs love going to the barn and running with the horses.
This summer, August, we put to
sleep our beloved "Sandy" at the age of 28.
You are no longer in pain my dear
friend, but galloping through heavenly fields. Rest in peace.
Our Past Wolves

I had two wolves when I was young.
I rescued "Blues", who was an Arctic Timber Wolf, (left) from a 10 x 10 pen
in the city where he had been for 10 years. Later, I obtained "wolfer" (right) who was a McKenzie Valley
Timber wolf. The wolves have brought much joy and enrichment to my life.
I will always have a passion for these amazing animals.
If you have a passion for
Wolves, I would recommend purchasing the books and/or DVD from Jim
and Jamie Dutcher. I had the opportunity to interview the
Dutchers and their work with the wolves is a huge contribution to
the wolves.

This is one of my favorite
photos of Jim Dutcher and his Alpha Wolf, Kamots.

Did you know we
have wild horses in Missouri?

I had the pleasure this
past year of finding the band of wild horses in the fields in
Emminence, Mo. The kids and I crept out into the field at 4
a.m. and sat and waited. We could hear their thundering
hooves running the creek. As day broke, we were in awe with
what we saw. I had my video camera and digital ready. It
took me 4 hours of creeping on my knees to get this close to the
wild mare and her newborn, but what an experience. It is one
we will never forget.
We Love Helping
Others!

Every year we (and the
dogs) participate in our annual Easter Pageant at First Baptist
Church in Arnold, MO. June of 2008 we were able to travel
with our church to the Mountains in Mexico and perform our Easter
Pageant to the local villages. We performed in the middle of
the bull fighting arena. The girls and I had a wonderful time
and the girls handled the travel and language barrier with ease.
It was amazing to see how the kids communicated better than the
adults. We have a passion for Mission work and cannot wait to
travel to other parts of the world.

Whether we are playing on the beach, catching minnows or bass at the lake, riding
the horses or just hanging out in the pool or at the park....we love being
OUTSIDE! The dogs are always with us on our adventures and enjoy the float
trips or lazy days at the lake as much as we do!
We believe in Education!

Well, it took me until I
turned 40, but I finally graduated from Lindenwood University with
my Bachelor's Degree. I am now working on my Master's Degree
in Creative Writing.
Don't ever think you are
too old to go back to school, follow your dreams and achieve those
goals! You can make a difference in this world.
Every Child Should
have the opportunity to love a Golden!
